Sydney Ferries

Against the backdrop of the Opera House this First Fleet class ferry is flying the red ensign, one of Australia's national flags.

  1. Is it, the red ensign, one of Australia's national flags? I thought it had something to do with the navy. I wonder why a ferry is flying it. Shall have to google that.

  2. WIki says it is the flag for mercantile shipping and was designed in 1901 along with the blue national flag. Well blow me down with a feather ...
