Macquarie Street Fountain

Fountain at the end of Macquarie Street near the entrance to the Sydney Opera House. The dreaded 'Toaster' is to the right and the Tarpeian way to the left.

  1. Hah! I tossed that one up, too. Except I wanted to get a shot looking down from the TW. It has a great design this one, and soooo easy to overlook, because I tend to try to avoid being skittled when in that area!

So, we each have something different. Jolly good ...

  2. Didn't even think of that one. Don't think I've ever photographed it.

  3. Feels like a spot where time isn't running that fast as on the streets around.

Please have a good new month.

  4. Good choice. I have a shot of it looking in the other direction but the fountain was off that day. Never thought of photographing it that way. By the way, Tarpeian Way is on the 'left'.

  8. The Lewis family donated this fountain. they used to own a compamy called Concrete Constructions that built a lot of Sydney's skyline, it was another lifetime ago that I knew them and they were nice folks. I recently read that Ann Lewis donated a lot of her art collection to the Newcastle Gallery. I was really glad you did this fountain.
