Rushcutters Bay Grandstand

A good place to watch the cricket on a sunny summers day.

Named after a 1940's Mayor of Sydney - Reg Bartley.

In March 1946 Bartley was instrumental in moving to demolish the Sydney Mint and the Hyde Park Barracks, stating that they should "make way for modern structures". Sounds a bit more right wing than the current Mayor - Clover Moore.

  1. I like these old style grand stands. Most are gone these days.

  2. There is another over at Bondi just hear the Waverly Council, and another at Waterloo near where I used to live. I like them too. Not sure I would have like that bloke Bartley though.
