Old Red Post Box

Not too many of these left, in fact I can't think of any others. As you can see it was taken with the El Alamein fountain in the background.

  1. Ooh, I like your mailbox (mines the white one against the green wall)! I've never seen one like that before. Especially good with the yellow car in the background.

  2. we have one in Rotorua, a tourist area and still operable.

Did I tell rightly that Melbourne is over taking in being the biggest city in OZ because it is so expensive in Sydney?

  3. Amazing that they are still around. I remember them well in the 60s, I hope they keep at least that one. You do still see them in the UK.

  4. This is brilliant. You don't see many of these old ones still around the city but wherever they are, they look fantastic.

  5. There is one on Bridge Road, Glebe, opposite the Glebe Town Hall.

There is another at Five Ways in Paddington.

They are gorgeous but tend to be in places where mail WAS heavy and is no longer. Hence, they close down but are not removed. Just as well, because I would be miffed.
