No Standing - No Stopping - No Parking

In a back lane behind Oxford Street, here are 3 signs to tell you pretty much the same thing - No Standing - No Stopping - No Parking. As I was taking the photo I was accosted by someone with a piece of paper asking me for money. This middle-aged male surprised me as I thought he was asking for directions.

  1. These three signs were meant to have been rationalised over the first decade of the 21st century and the NO STANDING sign eliminated. From Jan 1 2009, all NO STANDING signs mean same as NO PARKING.

NO STOPPING - driver must not stop the vehicle under any circumstances

NO PARKING - driver can set down / pick up passengers or goods but must do so within 2 minutes and not move more than 3m from the vehicle.

This change brings NSW into line with the rest of Australia.
