The big sheep

This is one of the many 'Big' things that country towns erect to attract visitors. This ram is at Goulburn about 2 hours drive south of Sydney. Australia used to rely on wool exports, it was said 'we rode on the sheep's back'.

South Sydney Rabbitohs at Town Hall

The sport with the biggest following in Sydney is Rugby League. The season has just ended and the premiers are the Bunnies. The South Sydney Rabbitohs last won in 1971, hence the jubilation for their fans. Yesterday they were presented with the keys to the city, a first for a league team. Russell Crowe is part owner and the game was a particulary brutal one against the Bulldogs. The bunnies best, Sam Burgess, broke his eye socket in the opening minute and played on. Waiting outside the Opera House is another rhino sculpture (see my post from a few days ago). Taronga Zoo is highlighting the plight of wild rhinos with these sculptures around Sydney.
