Sydney University Main Quadrangle
A beautiful day yesterday afternoon on the lawn in the main quadrangle.
The buildings surrounding the main quad was completed over many stages.
Edmund Blacket, Colonial Architect, started it in 1854, comprised the Great Hall and East range, which were built between 1854 and 1862.
Finally the uni architect,Professor Leslie Wilkinson, designed the North and North-west wings in harmony with the existing stonework in the Tudor Gothic style. The work carried out on the South-west range between 1921 and 1926.
One of my favourite places in Sydney.

Gunnedah graves.
St Mary's College Gunnedah. Founded 1879 by the Sisters of Mercy.
What a way to start your school day. At this school in country New South Wales, about 6 hours drive from Sydney, the pupils walk past a cemetery to start their day. All the nuns who taught here are buried out front.

P.S Gunnedah is booming, motels all full, Sydney house prices, Chinese coal company in town.

Abraham Lincoln's Grave
He is not buried here but in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Springfield, Illinois. This is in Washington DC. Many people look at the back of Lincoln’s head, believing they will see an image of Robert E. Lee looking back towards Arlington. Myth.

NSW Police Force Andrew Scipione
On Wednesday it was the 150th anniversary of the NSW Police Force and the skies cleared for their parade. Here is the Commissioner, Andrew Scipione. Sadly two days later he was travelling to Tamworth because a Police officer was shot and killed.
'POLICE officer David Rixon, a father of six with 20 years' service in the NSW force, has been killed in a shootout sparked by a routine vehicle stop in the state's north.
Police have formally identified Senior Constable Rixon, 40, as the officer who was gunned down on Friday after he pulled a vehicle over in Lorraine St, West Tamworth, just after 8am.' Herald
