Thomas the Tank Engine

So this is where Thomas lives when he is not on TV, in the shed at Bottom Points on The Zig Zag Railway.
It is a BB18 1/4 class loco built in Marybourough, Queensland between 1955 and 1958. It is a narrow gauge locomotive, as are all the Zig Zag trains, this means they run on rails 3 foot 6 inches apart. Usually in NSW all trains run on standard gauge 4 foot 8 1/2 inches.

  2. Thomas has a close cousin who lives down at the Thirlmere shunting sheds. HOwever, Cousin Thomas must come from a more wealthy branch of the Engine family, as he has a sparkling livery.
