Here is the NSW Parliament House lit up as part of Sydney's Vivid festival. There was a voice commentary paying tribute to the Snowy Mountain workers. After World War 2 Australia a large number of migrants and refugees came to Australia, on of the nation building schemes was the Hydro electric dams and tunnels in southern NSW in the beautiful Snowy Mountains.
How can they afford to have the lights on?
ReplyDeleteI think this is actually part of the Vivid Festival rather than the Biennale. :)
ReplyDeleteIts part of Macquarie Visions running as part of Vivid to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Governor Macquarie and his wife Elizabeth. Starts at St Mary's Cathedral and lights various buildings on Macquarie Street down to the Conservatorium. Also has strange blue plastic lighthouses and a not very impressive (IMHO) blue arch.
ReplyDeleteVery clear shot and a wonderful reflection. Glad one of us is managing to get some decent shots. I still haven't had a chance to get there on a good night with the good camera.
Nice reflection in this shot! So you guys do a lot of lighting up of things over there (Opera House, people's heads, Parliment...) ?! :)
ReplyDeleteHm, this is definitely not a Biennale work. Perhaps you should remove that tag? See http://vividsydney.com/ for more information about this work
ReplyDeletePeter !!!!!..never seen anyone use the top of car to reflect the building...you are so creative : )
ReplyDeleteThanks Jim and dooks, I can never work out which festival is which. There are so many these days it is likethe last days of Rome here in NSW.
ReplyDeleteBoom, creative ... just resting the camera ... forgot my tripod.
Thanks Ann.
Bruce - there is an election pending.
An interesting photo trying to work out what is what.
ReplyDeleteSnowy Mountains ... reminds me how chilly it is outside right now. I'm enjoying your shots without having to go down to the big smoke to see them.
ReplyDeletePretty and Unique!:)
