Lloyd Rees

Here is a sculpture of Sydney artist Lloyd Rees, he was a vocal advocate of public art around Sydney. It is good to see him remembered outside the Town Hall.

  1. He was a lovely old codger. Such a memorable craggy face. Will seek out this sculpture this week. Facing QVB I suspect.

  2. I remember him. He was frequently on TV being interviewed in his later days. I think he was born in Brisbane, though, but died in Sydney.

  3. That's correct Julie, I only noticed it the other day.
Agree Bill and Bruce - his face has 'character'.

  4. I've walked past this many times and have never got around to photographing it. Peter, there weren't too many freebies at the Aroma Festival. There were some small samples but there were some good discounts though like all coffees were $2 everywhere and thick chocolate hot shots for $1.

  6. It's a good thing he was an art advocate. I wouldn't know how to react if I had a sculpture of myself that looked like this.
