Today is the anniversary of the bombing of Sydney by no one knows who. This memorial is outside the Hilton Hotel where it occurred. Still no answers as to who were the culprits - a very strange case. Three men died just doing their job.

Number 48 Martin Place now owned by the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, has a beautiful terracotta and pink granite front. It was built for the Government Savings Bank of NSW and opened in 1928.

Rhinos as Art


Pitt St Mall rhino.

An initiative of Taronga Zoo.

'A huge herd of 125 wildly colourful rhino sculptures have charged into town to create a spectacular world class sculpture trail through the streets, parks and public spaces of Sydney, Dubbo and surrounds during February to April 2014 to help raise awareness of the critical plight facing rhinos through poaching and habitat loss.'

So surprised when I saw this in a side street, I have driven through Goulburn dozens of times and never seen this. This court house was built in 1847 and was designed by Mortimer Lewis, the Colonial Architect. This is my last stop before I return to Sydney tomorrow.
