These guys were heading down for a surf a break known as Little Av. The afternoons lately have been hot and humid perfect for a dip after work.

This old boat was hosting a party on Darling Harbour, they even had a BBQ set up on deck. The Harbour Control Tower is in the background, and is not a large funnel.

Hyde Park Fountain

In keeping with the Fountain theme for City Daily Photo here is another fountain this time hidden away somewhat is Hyde Park. St Mary's in the background, the tents are part of the Sydney Festival. According to the City of Sydney "Sandringham Gardens in Sydney's Hyde Park North were developed to commemorate the intended visit in 1952 of King George VI. The memorial was designed as a sunken garden with a reflecting pool partly enclosed by a pergola, and its association with the King’s home at Sandringham, Norfolk, England was to be marked by the a gift of 12 oak and elm trees. Due to the sudden death of the King, the Royal Tour was cancelled and plans for the garden were suspended. In 1953, it was decided to dedicate the gardens as a joint memorial to the late King George V and the late King George VI. The memorial gates to Sandringham Gardens were unlocked on 5 February 1954 by the late King George VI's daughter, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, using a ceremonial key designed to incorporate the mural crown from the city's coat of arms."

Toaster Sculpture

This modern art can be found under the 'Toaster' on the way to the Sydney Opera House. Not sure of its name or the artist.

Captain Cook Cruises

This is one of the largest vessels in the Captain Cook range, Sydney 2000, here it is sailing out of Darling Harbour.

Countdown Timer

On trial in Sydney is this pedestrian countdown timer on George Street. Other cities have them and it gives the pedestrians information to make a decision about their crossing.

Levy Drinking Fountain 2

The Lewis Wolfe Levy Drinking Fountain in the Royal Botanic Gardens was erected in 1889 as a gift to the Gardens. The statue is of Diana and the marble base was imported from England. Good to see people filling up.

Three ships

The big passenger ship was making its way out of the Harbour, the ferry was trying to get around it.

The view of the harbour from Darling Point at night. The security fence is to stop you getting into private property, I think there should be a walkway around the whole harbour. What do you think?

This is the starting place for the Bridge Climb, under the bridge in Cumberland Street. A cheaper option is a climb up the South Eastern Pylon - with a comparable view.

Fountain at the end of Macquarie Street near the entrance to the Sydney Opera House. The dreaded 'Toaster' is to the right and the Tarpeian way to the left.
